Travels in Central America – Belize

Written by , Posted in Destination, Travel

Out of our entire trip, we got to spend the most time in Belize.  My friend Livia, whom I’ve known since preschool lives in Belize with her wonderful husband, Andrew (Preschool! yikes!) They reside on the wonderful tiny island of Caye Caulker- where they own and run a golf cart rental business. Check it out if you are there!
We were able to visit quite a few wonderful places on the mainland before heading to Caye Caulker. From ancient ruins, to amazing beach towns.
Soo.. on another note- you know how tropical islands usually only have bright vivid colors? Well, it’s because all of the local hardware stores only offer a limited “tropical” color palette. Mystery solved. 🙂 2013-07-03_0035 2013-07-03_0036 2013-07-03_0037 2013-07-03_0038 2013-07-03_0039 2013-07-03_0040 2013-07-03_0041 2013-07-03_0042 2013-07-03_0043 2013-07-03_0044 2013-07-03_0045 2013-07-03_0046 2013-07-03_0047 2013-07-03_0048 2013-07-03_0049 2013-07-03_0050 2013-07-03_0051 2013-07-03_0052 2013-07-03_0053 2013-07-03_0054 2013-07-03_0055 2013-07-03_0056

Travels in Central America- Nicaragua

Written by , Posted in Destination, Travel

2013-07-03_0021The people in Nicaragua were so incredibly welcoming and friendly, the hospitality here is pretty incredible.
We spent a few days exploring the beach and amazing culture Nicaragua has to offer, from their markets, to the people at the fruit stands. Their coast was also gorgeous, along with their volcanoes and all of the climates in between.
The crazy thing about Nicaragua’s infrastructure is that they don’t actually have street addresses, instead- they have barrios, which are little neighborhoods within the city, and the communities within the barrios make sure that mail gets delivered and everything is running safe and sound. As we know, I’m a huge fan of color- so for the first mini installment to the 4 Central American countries we had a chance to visit.

Victoria and John’s Philadelphia Engagement Session

Written by , Posted in Destination, Engagement, Travel

We met John and Victoria at Matt and Millie’s Bethany Beach wedding back in 2011. We cooed with joy when we found out that they’d fly us out to Philadelphia for their wedding and Philadelphia engagement photography session. (Yes indeed, Jason can Coo, and don’t let him tell you otherwise)
Victoria and John have the classic boy meets girl- through mutual friends, and once they met, they never left each other’s side. You’ll have to meet their friends, they’re a pretty great group.  Laid back, and the perfect audience for a Brewery reception.
For Victoria and John’s engagement session, we met up for coffee on a rainy Philadelphia day, caught up with some warm drinks and played ‘hide and go seek’ with the rain clouds for the rest of the afternoon.

I love the John’s yellow Colorado shirt matches the Stumptown Cold Brew coffee(beer) bottle in the photo below. 🙂 2013-04-01_0025 2013-04-01_0026 2013-04-01_0027 2013-04-01_0028
Love you guys.2013-04-01_0029 2013-04-01_0030
In the midst of exploring the neighborhoods of Philadelphia throughout the engagement session, we stumbled upon this historic warehouse. I love how everything has history on the east coast!2013-04-01_0031 2013-04-01_0032 2013-04-01_0033 2013-04-01_0034 2013-04-01_0035 2013-04-01_0036

Nicole and Joel in Nicaragua

Written by , Posted in Destination, Love

Nicole and Joel are getting married on the beach near Leon, Nicaragua tomorrow. We spent Thanksgiving afternoon visiting Si a la Vida, where Nicole and Joel met while Nicole was finishing up her master’s thesis.
Si a la Vida is an amazing organization which helps Nicaraguan Children get off the streets, go to school, and learn a trade. Joel’s mom is one of the the inspiring people who run the organization.
More to come from these two and the organization. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
