Today was Jena and Chris’ Salvage One wedding!!! A great way to celebrate the Post Turkey Day festivities indeed. The venue was amazing! It’s called Salvage One, located in the West Town part of Chicago. Oh, the tables, chairs, loveseats, birdcages- THE COLUMNS! There was so much amazing stuff there. I still have dreams about the giant birdcage located on the 1st floor. Ah, so ornate, so well designed. What an amazing place to have a wedding!
They had a chapel-type setup on the 1st floor, where Jena and Chris stood between two beautiful and majestic Corinthian columns. And the reception hall! Totally went with Jena’s vintage theme. Oh- and her dress, so original and beautiful! Made by a wonderful custom boutique designer Caroline Devillo. I love the 6 mini tassle details that hung from the left side! So unique! And Chris’ suit? Looked like something out of Mad Men! (One of my favorite shows by far)
Not only are Jena and Chris are wonderful and super nice, but they hang out with a great crowd!! From the amazing dancing to the exciting pose shots in our photobooth (next post to come!) A family friend of Jena’s, like an uncle (as he described) was one of my favorites. He’s actually a photographer too- and he’s done it all- have an old telescope you don’t use? Pish Posh- He’ll turn it into a camera lens! Need a fisheye lens? Take a lens cap, a drill and a 120 degree door peephole and Viola! You have a fisheye lens making kit. I’m super excited for this project. Check out his website!!
Now- back to Jena and Chris’ fabulous day- the favors were cute little 1″ handmade buttons. And the centerpieces? Terariums! Some with special little tigers and various animals. DIY weddings are always so unique! My favorite facebook update of Jena’s is : “Remember when you offered me any help? Please inquire within.” I wish would have known earlier! Terarium-making would have been so much fun!
