Matt & Millie’s Wedding in Bethany Beach, DE!

Written by , Posted in Destination, Event, Wedding

So- first off….. Millie is one of the most considerate people I’ve ever met.  Seriously though!  Matt and Millie rented out a grand beautiful beach house named Seacolt in Bethany Beach and housed a large chunk of their guests at their Bethany Beach wedding.  I remember when we arrived that she wrote out exact times of shuttles plopped in goodie bags accompanied with delicious crab spiced UTZ chips, salt water taffy, and bottled water.  On top of that- they were totally game for my idea of waking up during sunrise to take some fabulous ocean shots. EPIC!

Matt and Millie had their family formal ceremony on Wednesday at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Baltimore over in Little Italy.  Now for today- they had a wedding for all of the fun friends and family, with Matt’s childhood pastor/friend as their officiant right on the delightful warm and sandy beach.  Excellent! Oh! Did I mention there were dolphins out when we took photos in the morning?

The space served as a fantastic house party filled with sand, drinks and plenty of cheer to go around.  After the festivities were over, Matt and Millie were able to enjoy the place to themselves for an extra couple of days.  Excellent mini-honeymoon destination indeed.

Matt and Millie, if you guys are ever in Chicago, hit us up!!!  We would love love love your visit!!  You guys are great. 🙂

Before the ceremony, we headed over to Delaware Beach, just up the road and over to the Indian River Inlet, where Matt spent many fun warm days throughout his childhood.

AND!! Last but not least- my favorite shot from the photobooth-

The story? So while the photobooth is coming along fabulously, Matt’s friend, PJ, comes up to me and asks “So… when’s the topless portion of this party?”

Unsure of what to say- I glance down at my watch and reply “um… 9:15 sounds about right.”  And about right indeed- all of the sudden the guys show up, lock the door and quickly pull off the photo while the ladies are banging on the door. Excellent. 🙂

Baltimore Engagement Photography – Matt and Millie

Written by , Posted in Engagement, Portrait

What a fun weekend for a Baltimore engagement photography session! The antique row? Awesome- I was so excited when we went there, because we stumbled upon the amazing Mayfair Theatre, which is one of the only surviving historical theaters from a historic theater district in Baltimore. All around the block there are lovely murals. (Matt and Millie were able to witness the excitement upon finding the awesome color diamond striped mural.) I love towns (and people!) with loads of character. On top of it all, Matt and Millie were so much fun!

We started the day off in Little Italy, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, where Matt and Millie will have their official nuptials the Wednesday before their ocean front ceremony in Delaware.  It’s a cute little neighborhood, and there’s free parking!  So hop to it, all of you Wednesday ceremony goers. 🙂 From there we headed out to Antique Row, where the lovely light rail cars pass by.  And the striped mural must have been ment to be! Millie’s scarf was a perfect match with it.  From there, it was off to catch the sunset by the Visionary Arts Museum and the hike-able Federal Hill.  Double thanks to Matt for knowing the way around town, we would have been extra lost without you guys.

Holy cow, 1.5 months til the wedding!! So, Millie and Matt met a few times through friends before they started dating. You know, the classic story of the girl having to keep it cool and the guy not knowing if she’s into him? Indeed. 🙂 Millie actually lived not too far from Federal Hill when they finally hit it off.  So for their wedding!! Matt and Millie are having their wedding and reception at the Sea Colt Beach house on Bethany Beach in Delaware. The property is gorgeous, as will their wedding be. Yay! It’s going to be a blast!

PS- I need to extend a shout out to a place called Soups On.  Thankfully, Subway was all out of soup- so Jason discovered this little gem on Yelp that was only 2 blocks away.  Their soup was delicious! (And the owner was super friendly) You guys should be in Chicago! And bring Matt and Millie with you!
