The Rookery was the perfect location for their around the world bash.
Jane and John planned their wedding all of the way from Australia, across the globe. Jane is originally from Chicagoland, and John is from Ireland. Which, made it pretty perfect to have the most ultimate wedding cake EVER. Ultimate? Yes. Just scroll down and you will see the amazingness below. Well, ok- I’ll tell you, Jane’s mom ordered a Globe Shaped wedding cake. Yes! Imagine a cake shaped like the world. It had the Bean on top, and fondant designed homes and buildings near and dear to Jane and John’s hearts. Gah, it was amazing! Along with all of the other details Jane planned for- giant wedding balloons, stopping by an Irish Pub on their wedding day for John, embroidering their wedding date onto her dress, and so much more.
Okay, you can see The Rookery Wedding for yourself. But- to start off, Jane got ready at her parent’s house. They also had their ceremony at Holy Family Chicago – my favorite Cathedral in Chicago, and we happily had the opportunity to photograph many weddings there this year. Plus, everyone there is super nice, and I’m a fan of super nice. 🙂
Jane’s shoes match the balloons so perfectly. I love it when brides have a pop of color in their wedding outfits.
Jane’s nephew! Adorable right?! Gah, look at his little baby tounge!!!
Ah, Holy Family Chicago- you’re so pretty.
So it was a super hot summer day during their ceremony- for which they had the fans blowing inside the church. I’m a fan of Jane’s veil blowing in the breeze down the aisle. <3
And they even had a giant world balloon!! Which is actually smaller than the cake.
Jane, your back muscles are AMAZING… it’s like you play tennis or something.
Oh and I forgot to mention the colorful poofs!

The Rookery is such an amazing historical building. It was designed by Burnhan and Root in 1888, and the lobby was remodeled by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905- which is all of the amazingness you can see in the photo below. In case you want to nerd out a bit more about the Rookery, HERE is the wikipedia page.
My favorite shot is the Black and White photo of Jane and John’s first dance at The Rookery Wedding, you can see all of the architecture.
