A delightful backyard Naperville Wedding

Written by , Posted in Wedding

Amy has impeccable taste- and patience. And it showed with all of the amazing hard work she pulled off with her  team in the backyard. It was completely transformed into the perfect Naperville wedding after party/bonfire/danceoff/photobooth/patiolight amazingness. From diy tea tin wedding centerpieces, to the photobooth props and furniture, it was unforgettable. And- a perfect place to have a first look before the ceremony.
Mike adds to Amy’s great tastes by not only being devilishly handsome, but also for getting her a west elm credenza as a wedding gift. (and you all know that I love me some West Elm.) 😉
Amy and Mike had quite thoughtful wedding favors little boxes filled with some of their favorite things, fruit jam, and hot sauce.  Excellent choices!

Chicago Love- Sarah and JD’s Chicago Catalyst Ranch Wedding

Written by , Posted in Wedding

2013-02-17_000

Sarah and JD had their wedding at the eclectic Chicago Catalyst Ranch. Colors, knick-knacks and hulahoops were everywhere. And it was a bright and sunny day for this wedding to take place- along with the fact that it was the same weekend as the G8 Summit held here in Chicago. But! the streets were actually empty! Which was pretty amazing for Chicago summer traffic.
Sarah’s Jenny Yoo dress fit like a glove, and the pinks, yellows and grays were a perfect match to Catalyst Ranch’s array of colors.

Long Beach Wedding Photography: Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA) with Mari & Ryan

Written by , Posted in California, Travel, Wedding

Ryan and Mari’s Long Beach wedding photography day is seriously one of my favorites this year.  The colors, the people, the location, and not to mention- the fantastic branding: Gingerbean, which is a delightful combo of their nicknames to each other. And? The logo they made? even more excellent! Given, I expect none the less since Ryan and Mari and a couple of designer/art director Gurus extraordinaire for Speedo and Oakley alike. You’ll see a down into the post the logo and sunny shades, given- I can’t vouch that there were any Speedos there that day.

Molaa‘s venue had some amazing art pieces and colors to shoot with from the forks to the various saturated stucco walls and sculptures through out. Excellent Long Beach venue indeed.

Shades?  Provided a perfect accessory when shooting in the sun with the bridesmaids.

Mari’s mom- you were glowing that day!

Gingerbean logo- boom.

Congrats again you two!  Coffee next time we’re in LA?

A Brooklyn Engagement Photography- Pooja and Ben

Written by , Posted in Engagement

We met Pooja and Ben in person for the first time near Brooklyn Bridge Park for their Brooklyn engagement photography session and spent most of the afternoon exploring the crevasses and streets of the neighborhood- from the delicious Faramacie ice cream shop to the Brooklyn Pub. Pooja looked absolutely amazing in her vivid blue dress. Many many more shots to come of these two in July, once their Chicago Navy Pier Wedding approaches.

Sarah and JD are getting married this weekend! So perfect timing to show off their Chicago engagement photography session before their big day at Catalyst Ranch. The Catalyst Ranch is an amazingly colorful quirky space filled with retro furnishings and decor- a bit like stepping into a timewarp.
