A Beachside Lake Michigan Wedding Photography – Tammy and Chris

Written by , Posted in Wedding

Lake Michigan Wedding Love Kiss Studio FinchBeing a Michigan native, when Tammy inquired with us that she was having her wedding on Lake Michigan and getting ready at her parent’s blueberry farm, I immediately gushed for joy.
Tammy and Chris live in Chicago, so we opted for the city (Chris’ motorcycle and all) for the engagement session, and basked in the beautiful nature surrounding us for their wedding photography in Michigan. Seriously. It was a gorgeously sunny day for Michigan wedding photography. From jars of blueberry jam to colorful lake-shore sunsets and beach-side fire pits, it couldn’t have been anymore perfect of a wedding day for Tammy and Chris.

Written by , Posted in personal, Wedding

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of so many absolutely amazing brides and grooms we have this year, we also have our wedding to look forward to.  Indeed, Jason and I are getting married this fall at the Blue Dress Barn in Millburg, MI.

When we spotted the amazing venue, with it’s whimsical vines and silos and lush greenery everywhere, we knew this was the spot, just like many of you lovely folks feel when you find your locations and details. With that, here is a sneak peak to our venue:

We Love Detroit

Written by , Posted in Love, Travel

Being from Michigan, Detroit is a City that speaks to me.  It was so fantastic to have a chance to visit again. Wide roads, winding freeways, community gardens- the city puts a burst of pride in my heart. Jason and I felt as though the Chrysler Superbowl commercial was playing through our heads- with the guitar riff from Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’- and Tim Allen’s voice in the Pure Michigan Ads. (Though- our rental was a Ford)

Our dear and lovely friend Angela told us to make sure to check out the Guardian Building, her favorite building in Detroit, which is now at the top of our list as well.  The Guardian Building was completed in 1929 when Art Deco was at its finest, with AMAZING colored tile with a bit of Mayan and Aztec coloring.  The security guards were so incredibly nice as well, letting us get the shot above even though the building was closed for the evening.  As a matter of fact, everyone in Detroit was so incredibly nice- from the community gardens near the Motor City Brewing Co. to the American Coney Island near the new Tigers Stadium.  The community garden and urban art, from colorful birdhouses to bright murals were also amazing.

Being raised in Michigan, with my dad being in the Auto Industry since he moved to America, seeing Detroit go through the good, the bad, the sparks and regrowth, quite a few emotions ran through me this past weekend- most of all being pride.

A bit of Photobooth Love

Written by , Posted in Love, Photobooth

Today we had the opportunity to be at the lovely Livia and Andrew’s wedding at Post Family Farms in Hudsonville, MI. There were goats, ponies, roosters, kittens, bunnies, toads, and all sorts of fantastic animals. Which is perfect since Livia grew up with horses on a farm. Andrew’s family came from abroad and it was a fun and festive outdoor summer wedding.  You can’t get any better than that! With that being said, I had to post a bit of photobooth love. 🙂

See?  There WERE toads! Rachel, one of Livia’s bridesmaids managed to find this little guy at the end of the night. 🙂
