Stacy and Dominic’s Salvage One Wedding

Written by , Posted in Salvage One, Wedding

The early winter weather for Stacy and Dominic’s Salvage One wedding was amazing- or how I’d like to call it, early-fallish- and filled with glass coke bottles for champagne toasts, caramel apple thank you’s and epic pie selections. One of my favorite parts about Stacy is the fact that she laughs when she gets nervous- which just makes everyone else smile and laugh right along with her.

Her flowers were made of ribbon, which was pretty excellent- all bundled in their bouquets. And the something old was Stacy’s amazing shoes she bought on a trip abroad. Went quite well with the bouquets!

Through all of these amazing details, and Stacy and Dominic’s awesome family and friends, I have to repeat for what I told Dominic- his family takes the cake on the quickest massive family portrait of all time! ¬†Impressive!

Now- on to the day:

Notice that Dominic’s tie matches the TV screen? Indeed it does. ūüėČ

For their toast?  Glass Coke bottles instead of champagne- excellent touch.

Hoosier Mama makes the most amazing pies!

Ahh-musings: Mignonette Bridal Opening

Written by , Posted in Love, Musings

Introducing Mignonette Bridal– or better yet, I should say- Introducing Kpone.

Kpone is an amazingly creative dress designer. As I perused through the dresses and delightful accessories at Mignonette’s Grand Opening on February 4th, I noticed an array of different dress designs- everything from the Mod Shift dress, Romantic Lace, to the Vintage tea length. And the accessories and jewelry to go with everything! ¬†I felt like a kid in a candy store, and the warm romantic decor GAH!¬†And there was even a men’s section, which makes for a delightful excuse to bring the bride groom.

If you’re ever near Belmont and Ashland, be sure to check it out. A custom designed dress? Indeed! ūüôā

Jen and Andy’s Lovely DIY Upcycled Vintage Chicago Wedding Photography

Written by , Posted in Vintage, Wedding

I am quite pleased to share Jen and Andy’s amazingly lovely Chicago wedding photography details on their big day. ¬†Everything from Jen’s ring to the place cards was either created herself, or a fantastic Etsy find. Or! From Andy’s childhood. The wedding itself was at Andy’s parents’ backyard, along with a stop at their family farm.

Jen’s cards and design skills? ¬†Why you can see them on her site here. And the lovely little flag cake topper? Why, adorning the most delicious vegan cake of course!

After the wedding, Jen and Andy set out on an antiquing road trip across the south- with some excellent photos and finds along the way.

Rocky the Best man?  Why of course!

Lovely Coffee

Written by , Posted in personal

So many new and bright things to talk about from the past couple of months!! First off, I must mention the excitement for Leanne and Brian’s wedding tomorrow at Salvage One. ¬†Aaaand…. Leanne says that it is quite music inspired, from the band to the bouquet and boutonieres- guitar chips and excellent vibes. ¬†Can’t Wait!

A few of the changes and discoveries for this year so far are that we moved to a new space, which has become quite exciting with so many possibilities.

And in the midst of discoveries, we learned that we live just a few blocks from an adorable coffee shop called Lovely which serves the delicious and smooth Intelligentsia  coffee.  On a little side note- I have also discovered that I am a huge fan of the Chicago Flag- I mean, come on, it looks awesome!

Along with a few other ventures and discoveries:

PINTEREST – Yes, I’m late in the game, so many of this years brides were taunting me with the visually inspiring pinboards. I finally gave in, and am loving it. ūüôā

WRIGHT WAY RESCUE – Dog adoption= a wonderful thing. ¬†Our new space allows doggies, so we’re excited to adopt a little doggie into their forever home.

BIKING – Yes! We are now a few blocks from many of Chicago’s wonderfully convinient bike lanes, can’t wait to take my Schwinn Beach Cruiser out for a spin.

PORTLANDIA– In the midst of 2nd Season- Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are quite wonderful.

ZKIN– Beautifully designed camera bags- only in Hong Kong of course. ¬†Someday… someday I’ll find them in the US.

We are quite excited to share all of this year’s wonderful couples, along with wrapping up many of our weddings from last year- so much to share!
