Eileen and Grant flew in for the sunny (and hot!) Chicago photography engagement session at Morton Arboretum. It’s an amazing space where we got to run around all over the grounds on the crunchy grass (or would it be considered hay at that point?)
Tandem bike for the engagement session? Why yes indeed! Eileen and Grant scored an amazing vintage yellow tandem bike off of Craigslist. They live on the East Coast, while Grant is going to grad school in Jersey for his MFA, and he creates quite a bit of awesomeness. I’ll link it once I dig it out of my email.
Oh those big open sky lakefront shots? Eileen and Grant were game for waking up at sunrise the next morning and meeting us at the lakefront on their bike, just a few hours before their flight home. Big thanks you two, because the lakefront shots were worth it!
Have to say, pretty jealous of Eileen’s amazing freckles.
Out of all of our Chicago wedding photography this year, Heidi and Eric’s was one of our favorites. Heidi planned all of the details out to a perfect T. It was amazing! From the peonies to match the ones that grew on the side of her parent’s house growing up, to the antique reprints of herbs and spices for the table number center pieces to the vintage blue mason jars perfectly matching her shoes, the twine on the wedding invitations and also the bridesmaids dresses.
Heidi and Eric had their wedding at Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville. It was a beautiful spring day in Chicago land and the weather was perfect for the ceremony at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church in Indian Creek- Heidi made the ceremony exit extra special by making ribbon wands to send to couple off to the reception in their white vintage Rolls Royce. Oh, and you have to see their Danish Marzipan Ring Cake! Complete with little danish flags. A huge thanks goes out to Carolynn at Shannon Gail Events, all of the amazing details would not have been possible without your collective creativity and organization. 🙂 Along with their amazing videographer JJ at Orange Wedding Films. He’s awesome and fantastic to work with.
In case you ever wondered what a Danish Circle Marzipan Cake looks like- this is a beautifully delicious example. Heidi and Eric’s wedding cake? Was a birch tree with a bird nest as the cake topper. Fabulous! 🙂 But that wasn’t all to satisfy your sweet tooth, Heidi and Eric also had passed desserts served in perfect bites, along with a Chicago Style Hot Dog cart at the end of the evening.
You two looked amazing on your wedding day- in other fantastic news, congrats on your new house you guys!!
Blush- as in the color, was the prefect choice for Nathalie’s amazing wedding dress, along with her flowers from Stemline Creative. Nathalie and Saul’s big day was filled with dancing, mariachi, and love. Their reception was at St. Paul in Chicago and reception at Meson Sabika in Naperville.
Saul picked a fantastic place to get ready- Simone’s in Pilsen. It was an excellent touch of color to the guy’s afternoon, and a good start to the Mariachi festivities.
Did we mention Saul knows how to pick a great place for him and his groomsmen to get ready? Simone’s in Pilsen had all kinds of vintage/steam punk goodies.
Almost too pretty to eat…almost.
Below you can see an image of the La Vibora Ceremony, similar to “London Bridge” where guest dance and hold hands in a circle going underneath the bride and groom standing on chairs.
Melissa and Matt had their wedding at Four Rivers Environmental Center. It was filled with gray and bright yellow DIY details, which Matt’s amazing cousin, Joanna, helped create for their big day.
Melissa’s wedding was held on an absolutely gorgeous summer day in Channahon (about an hour SW of Chicago) the sun shined in all its glory for such a special day. They were surrounded by nature, which is one of the main reasons why they chose the venue. Four Rivers Center is a peninsula literally intertwined within 4 winding rivers. Gotta love weddings in the midst of bright summer sunshine!
Melissa and Matt had the most delightful vintage wedding car rental- a 1941 Cadillac. The driver/owner Andrew at Vintage Chauffeuring was incredibly nice. Love, Love his car!
Melissa’s beautiful dress was custom made by Monica, the owner of Monirose : Bespoke Gowns. The details are gorgeous on the gown.
A big congrats to Melissa and Matt with their bright and yellow wedding.
