Two things we love: vivid colorful street art in Chicago and our lovely couples in front of it
So, this morning Jason and I were talking about how cold it is and how awesome it was that a year ago, Voni and Clivens braved the very brisk January weather to do a Chicago Engagement session in the winter with us. Seriously you guys- we talk about you all of the time. So I found it fitting to blog about their ArTango Wedding in Chicago today.
Voni and Clivens met online, but Clivens likes to tell people that they met at a bar. Haha, which is technically true- also, in that case- Jason and I met at a coffee shop diner. 🙂
Voni and Clivens both moved from their home states to Chicago. I’m from Michigan, so I know how that goes. But yes, on to their wedding!
Where is this mural? It’s at a fast food parking lot on the way to their ArTango Wedding. I asked them if we could stop here because I was a bit smitten by it.
I’m in love with their first look… I need to make a GIF out of this.
The blustery Chicago day. I’m in love with these two in this photo.
We called the warehouse- they painted it just for Voni. 😉
YOU HAVE THE MOST AMAZING EYES! But, I’m sure you know and you hear that every day.
And onto the ArTango Wedding ceremony!
I hope you guys are staying warm on the northside and that the lake is not making any crazy wind or ice this year! Happy late birthday Voni and I hope your European honeymoon was AMAZING.
Also, a big thank you to all of the vendors- here is the shout out list:

We are huge fans of collaboration. So when Mackenzie and Jeff said that they wanted to Focus on Downtown Chicago for their engagement session, we were more than excited. Especially excited for Mackenzie’s shoes. She sported a pair of epic Betsey Johnson Pumps. Pumps and jeans? Yes please!
We started off the session on Randolph Street, surrounded by restaurants and the hustle and bustle of people. Au Cheval had special meaning to Mackenzie and Jeff, and naturally we had to start off on these soon to be vintage Newspaper Boxes outside of the restaurant.
Gotta love a Downtown Chicago Engagement session.
A nice throwback in case any of you forgot how crazy this winter was. And Voni & Clivens are amazing in their Chicago winter engagement photography session – for bearing that crazy cold during their engagement session. And thank you guys so much for doing it! You are rockstars.
There is a certain crisp wonderfulness in the feel and colors of winter. When the sky is big and blue, it gives all of the earthy tones a warm vibe- and we can use all of the warm we could get! Enough of all of this, now for checking these two rock out a crisp and ‘breezy’ winter engagement.
And the fact that these two were willing to take a couple of photos without their coats on? Awesome. One of my favorite winter engagement sessions ever.
Growing up, I was surrounded by nostalgia. Tin and wooden toys are a few of my favorite things- so when we went to Cozy Noodle for Owen and Matt’s Chicago engagement photography session, we had a plethora of amazingness. Added in with that, the interior of the space paired with the autumn backdrop colors quite well. Fall in Illinois is downright breathtaking. So when Owen and Matt said they had a blanket- well, we had a field. 🙂
They are getting married at Architectural Artifacts later this summer, so speaking of being surrounded by nostalgia- it couldn’t be at a better wedding venue. Can’t wait!
We had such a blast at Mary Beth and Sam’s Chicago wedding, from their ceremony by the Lincoln Park Statue to their reception at Maxim’s Chicago. Thank you so much to the ladies over at Style Me Pretty for featuring their chicago wedding!
