Eeek! I’m so excited to show you guys Erica and John’s Cafe Brauer wedding!
It was our first wedding of the 2016 season. We couldn’t have started our Chicago wedding photography year with a nicer couple for their Cafe Brauer wedding. Erica and John were/are awesome! We ventured were outside in March for their photos and they were such troopers to brave the chilly weather right on Lake Michigan. I’m glad that the bridesmaids had long dresses on – thanks Jenny Yoo! We were all filled with warm thoughts, good vibes, and love, which helped keep us all warm.
Erica and John had their wedding festivities at the historic Cafe Brauer in Lincoln Park. It is an amazingly beautiful space made by Perkins & Hamilton in a Prairie Style architecture. It is one of our favorite spots in the Chicago to photography.
Erica’s bouquet, the bridesmaid’s dresses, and all of the other details mimicked the lavender and prairie green in Cafe Brauer Wedding’s space. We started the day off at Hotel Lincoln– which is conveniently close, FILLED with Mid Century Modern furniture and amazing antiques, which are all locally sourced. Anything mid-century modern and vintage warms my heart. We also took a trip to the roof to Hotel Lincoln’s – The J. Parker.
Checkout the photos from their big day below.

Ahh, Cantigny Park- you’re so picturesque I want to paint you! (Or at least have a gazillion more engagement sessions here)
Angela and Eric are getting married tomorrow! So naturally, I have to show these two lovelies off for their Cantigny Park engagement photography session. I am so excited that Angela chose Cantigny Park for the first half of her engagement session. It’s located in Wheaton, IL which is close to both of their respective hometowns in the Chicago Suburbs. And the pops of florals along with Angela’s dresses are perfect. Angela wanted to have a taste of home along with a nod to Chicago itself for added variety and awesomeness.
Angela and Eric are getting married tomorrow at The Royal Melborne Country Club in Long Grove. Ahh Mature luscious trees are the best! Now, onto their Cantigny Park Engagement session. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
A nod to Chicago and a Cantigny Park engagement session, it doesn’t get better than that!
Jane and John had their Chicago engagement session with us shortly after arriving in town from Australia, where they live. It was an around the world affair for them as John is originally from Ireland and Jane from Chicago. They met while both working abroad in Australia and never looked back.
They held their festivities at the Rookery later that week, as well as in Ireland later- finishing off their around the world tickets to Japan before heading home to the amazing down under in Australia.
And the details! THE CAKE!!!!! Holy tomatoes, I can’t wait to show you all of the crazy epic details (balloons! Giant confetti balloons!) from their wedding day.
It was awesome having a chance to step outside of the world of Skype and meet John in person for the first time at this engagement session.
Ryan and Mari’s Long Beach wedding photography day is seriously one of my favorites this year. The colors, the people, the location, and not to mention- the fantastic branding: Gingerbean, which is a delightful combo of their nicknames to each other. And? The logo they made? even more excellent! Given, I expect none the less since Ryan and Mari and a couple of designer/art director Gurus extraordinaire for Speedo and Oakley alike. You’ll see a down into the post the logo and sunny shades, given- I can’t vouch that there were any Speedos there that day.
Molaa‘s venue had some amazing art pieces and colors to shoot with from the forks to the various saturated stucco walls and sculptures through out. Excellent Long Beach venue indeed.
Shades? Provided a perfect accessory when shooting in the sun with the bridesmaids.
Mari’s mom- you were glowing that day!
Gingerbean logo- boom.
Congrats again you two! Coffee next time we’re in LA?

We met Pooja and Ben in person for the first time near Brooklyn Bridge Park for their Brooklyn engagement photography session and spent most of the afternoon exploring the crevasses and streets of the neighborhood- from the delicious Faramacie ice cream shop to the Brooklyn Pub. Pooja looked absolutely amazing in her vivid blue dress. Many many more shots to come of these two in July, once their Chicago Navy Pier Wedding approaches.
