Meet Becky and Zack. They were willing to wake up for a sunrise Chicago engagement session with us. Crazy troopers, I tell you.
My eyeballs feel like burning needles when I wake up this early, but every time I get to witness the sunrise, I’m grateful for actually waking up. It’s like you have the whole city to yourself for a sunrise Chicago engagement session.
Not to mention- Becky’s laugh is contagious. These two lovelies are having their wedding festivities at the Cityview Loft here in Chicago. Though we wont be waking up early like for the sunrise Chicago engagement session, it’ll be amazing light no matter what at that venue. 🙂
We stopped by the first apartment, which happens to be right down the street from where they currently live. And I was Jones-ing for some symmetry. 🙂 These two are so cool.
After that, we headed to their current place, and had some puppy engagement session time.
Okay- sooo the righthand image below is one of my favorite things ever. Every time I see it, it just cracks me right up. Attack of the flying puppy!!!
…the sweetest flying puppy. 🙂 Becky and Zack are the absolute best. Lets finish it off with their back entry stairwell. <3 So excited for your Cityview Lofts wedding this fall!! Thank you so much for waking up for a sunrise Chicago engagement session with us. xoxo
Eeek! I’m so excited to show you guys Erica and John’s Cafe Brauer wedding!
It was our first wedding of the 2016 season. We couldn’t have started our Chicago wedding photography year with a nicer couple for their Cafe Brauer wedding. Erica and John were/are awesome! We ventured were outside in March for their photos and they were such troopers to brave the chilly weather right on Lake Michigan. I’m glad that the bridesmaids had long dresses on – thanks Jenny Yoo! We were all filled with warm thoughts, good vibes, and love, which helped keep us all warm.
Erica and John had their wedding festivities at the historic Cafe Brauer in Lincoln Park. It is an amazingly beautiful space made by Perkins & Hamilton in a Prairie Style architecture. It is one of our favorite spots in the Chicago to photography.
Erica’s bouquet, the bridesmaid’s dresses, and all of the other details mimicked the lavender and prairie green in Cafe Brauer Wedding’s space. We started the day off at Hotel Lincoln– which is conveniently close, FILLED with Mid Century Modern furniture and amazing antiques, which are all locally sourced. Anything mid-century modern and vintage warms my heart. We also took a trip to the roof to Hotel Lincoln’s – The J. Parker.
Checkout the photos from their big day below.

Lily and John wanted to have a destination wedding in Chicago.
Since it’s a main hub, it makes it easier for family to be able to attend. They decided that a Spiaggia Chicago Wedding overlooking Lake Michigan was the perfect venue for them and family to be able to enjoy delicious food and to later get their groove on.
When we met Lily and John, they were in the midst of planning their move to Hawaii- cargo loading and all of that craziness, as John was going to be stationed there after his homecoming.
John and Lily got ready together in their hotel room- which I loved. It was so zen and calming in the room. I thought it was pretty awesome that they are getting ready together, I mean- if you’re marrying your best friend, it’s only right to get to spend the whole day with them right? And not to mention, their view was pretty awesome as well.
They eloped before John was deployed, so they decided to have a family blessing instead of a traditional ceremony for their Spiaggia Chicago Wedding. You’ll be able to see it in the photos as both John and Lily’s dad’s performed the family blessing together. It was quite sweet. <3
Oh Lily, your smile is contageous. This shot of them getting ready together is one of my favorite photos from this year.
Succulents, Giant White orchids and Hydrangeas? Oh so amazing!!! Thank you Dilly Lily.
John’s sweet neice.
The sweet family blessing.
Last quick spot for the Spiaggia Chicago Wedding across the street. 🙂
I hope you guys are having an amazing time in Hawaii! Trust me, we are all jealous here in Chicago while the high temperatures are 0 degrees. Brrr.

There is so much fun amazingness to show for Jenna and Jim’s Chicago Wedding that I can’t even handle it! Ok, so here it goes…
Jenna and Jim planned their wedding from afar- having a long distance relationship, this was no sweat for them. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to photograph their engagement session in New York City’s Gramercy Park last summer. (No fence jumping needed) Since living and working on the East Coast, Jenna and Jim moved to Germany together to follow Jim’s career in the Air Force. Which I say is pretty perfect, since Jenna’s dream would be to travel to unique and amazing places all over the world- what better than marrying a pilot?
They decided to have their wedding at Chicago’s Bridgeport Art Center Skyline Loft wedding, which was large enough to house all of their amazing family and friends. Also, just as important- it is large enough to hold a late night pasty food truck. Talk about awesome. Before their cocktail hour and reception, they got married at the beautiful Holy Family Catholic Church on Roosevelt and spent some time going around the city with their decked out navy blue wedding party.
Oh! And check out Jenna and Jim’s decor choices! They had friends trade place cards with Polaroid photos of the guests. Also, a huge thank you to Liven it Up Events for making the schedule and decor flow as smooth as possible. <3
We took photos on the football field at St. Ignatius (which is right next to Holy Family Catholic Church). The field is named after Jim’s Uncle, who was a proud Wolfpack coach in his prime.
Eeee! The decor from Exquisite Designs and Liven it Up Events is amazing!!! Not to mention, I think I’m in love- if we got married again, I would want to to be a Bridgeport Art Center Skyline Loft Wedding. Vow Renewal anyone? Jason? Hint? 🙂
Close up of the genius Polaroid Place card Station in action:

Kailee and Mike’s Kitchen Chicago Wedding at City View Loft was a day for the ages. Two words that describe their wedding day – beauty and style. And! Kailee wore an AMAZING Omelia BHLDN gown. The delicate lace detailing and unique shoulder draping is gorgeous. Polka dot tulle detailing is one of my favorite things.
Colorful perfection? Yes please! I am a huge fan of anything mint- from the shoes, shawl to the DIY hand-painted centerpieces.
Mike also brought along pizazz with his striped tie and dapper J. Crew suit. Stylish montage? For sure. Not to mention, awesome dance party of a reception that even had Black Dog Gelato for desert. Tasty Deliciousness.
Eeek! Kailee, your ring is beautiful.
Cocktails inspired by their kitties?! YES! Best mixology inspiring wedding idea yet. Not to mention that Buzz is the most photogenic kitty ever. (and he knows it)
I am IN LOVE and absolutely swooning over Kailee’s centerpieces. They were hand painted by her and her friends before the wedding.
