Chicago Engagement Photography – Tammy and Chris

2013-04-01_141b At first, Chris wasn’t a fan of the idea of getting a photo taken for his Chicago engagement photography session, but he was on board when he found out he could bring his bike. Bikes+Grunge? We love. It’s the perfect ying and yang with Tammy’s cheery yellow outfit, and adorable doggy.  Plus, Tammy is a veterinarian (Charlie’s Vet actually!) so they had to bring their dog. 🙂
Tammy and Chris wanted to have their engagement session in Chicago, since it’ll be a nice offset with their Lake Michigan wedding near Tammy’s parent’s Blueberry Farm.

Long Beach Wedding Photography: Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA) with Mari & Ryan

Ryan and Mari’s Long Beach wedding photography day is seriously one of my favorites this year.  The colors, the people, the location, and not to mention- the fantastic branding: Gingerbean, which is a delightful combo of their nicknames to each other. And? The logo they made? even more excellent! Given, I expect none the less since Ryan and Mari and a couple of designer/art director Gurus extraordinaire for Speedo and Oakley alike. You’ll see a down into the post the logo and sunny shades, given- I can’t vouch that there were any Speedos there that day.

Molaa‘s venue had some amazing art pieces and colors to shoot with from the forks to the various saturated stucco walls and sculptures through out. Excellent Long Beach venue indeed.

Shades?  Provided a perfect accessory when shooting in the sun with the bridesmaids.

Mari’s mom- you were glowing that day!

Gingerbean logo- boom.

Congrats again you two!  Coffee next time we’re in LA?

A Brooklyn Engagement Photography- Pooja and Ben

We met Pooja and Ben in person for the first time near Brooklyn Bridge Park for their Brooklyn engagement photography session and spent most of the afternoon exploring the crevasses and streets of the neighborhood- from the delicious Faramacie ice cream shop to the Brooklyn Pub. Pooja looked absolutely amazing in her vivid blue dress. Many many more shots to come of these two in July, once their Chicago Navy Pier Wedding approaches.

Chicago Engagement Photography with Sarah & JD – Ukrainian Village Style!

Sarah and JD are getting married this weekend! So perfect timing to show off their Chicago engagement photography session before their big day at Catalyst Ranch. The Catalyst Ranch is an amazingly colorful quirky space filled with retro furnishings and decor- a bit like stepping into a timewarp.

And onto their engagement session with Sarah’s amazing boots!

Not to mention JD’s awesome yellow sneakers.

Luke and Lauren’s Rustic Wedding Ceremony

The lovely Lauren and Luke contacted us mid winter to see if we could shoot their ceremony at their Grandmother’s rustic church in Aurora. Of course! and when the day came, it was an amazing sunny day for February. Grandma’s church was quite fitting and cozy- yet warm and bright with all of their guests at the ceremony.
I was a big fan of Lauren’s dress- which was actually made by Lauren and her mom! Using pieces of her mother’s gown and a bit of new- the DIY dress fit her perfectly.

Many congrats to you adorable lovebirds and your new upcoming family!

Lauren you are so breathtaking.

Loved Lauren’s bee attached to her bouquet- which went perfectly with Papa McBee sporting his bee tie.

A piece of The Beatles’ Rocky Raccoon on Lauren’s arm.  I gushed a bit when I saw it.
