Alicia and Lukasz’s Elmhurst Wilder Mansion wedding day couldn’t have been more beautiful! Everyone knows I’m a huge fan out rustic outdoor ceremonies, and they couldn’t have picked a better location. They had their outdoor ceremony at the Churchill Woods complete with vintage wooden doors for Alicia’s grand entrance.
Alicia and Lukasz have had a relationship since middle school. These two have known each other since they were little kids. Their bond is amazing and sincere, and everyone who has ever met Alicia and Lukasz would tell you that their souls are bonded deep. Gah, I just about cried at the ceremony myself. We felt so honored to photograph these two on their stunning day.
A touch of blush whimsey on Alicia’s Maggie Sottero dress is to die for. Putting the finishing touches on his vows.
The color pairings Alicia envisioned are amazing! Some of you who have met me have heard me go on and on about my new fondness over the color purple- It photographs so well with the florals from Ipomea Floral. Sheila, the owner and florist extraordinaire does an amazing job.
A huge thank you to all of these amazing vendors and fashion touches.
Woodwalk Gallery in Door County Wisconsin is probably one of my favorite wedding venues ever. The owners were so incredibly sweet- and also doubled as officiant/gallery coordinator. Carrie is originally from Iowa, and Ted is from New England- they both wanted to have their wedding in a place which is special to both of them. Conveniently, they both used to vacation in Door County’s Egg Harbor when they were kids. Boom- perfect wedding location set – Woodwalk Gallery in Door County!
Carrie made the most ultimate DIY extravaganza- from vintage cans, to wooden signs all matching the checkered cherry pie red they wanted for their wedding. It was some of the most amazing DIY wedding details ever, paired with babies breath balls and a custom pie topper. Carrie and Ted actually drove all of their decor to Door County from Brooklyn, which is a pretty amazing roadtrip on it’s own.
Okay, I’ve babbled on for too long- check it out for yourself!
We had an amazing time photographing Alicia and lukasz’ Elmhurst Wilder Mansion Wedding. This shot Ela captured of Alicia’s Dad walking her down the aisle in the woods just as the sun parted made me want to post a bit of dramatic Black and Whites that I’m a big fan of.
Everything from the ceremony space to the florals, dress and emotion from Alicia and Lukasz’ day was awe inspiring. Take a sneak peek below.

A couple of weddings back, I had a bridesmaid ask where our most off-the-beaten-path destination wedding was. At that moment it dawned on me, we haven’t blogged about Nicole and Joel’s amazing Nicaraguan Wedding yet! So this week is set to be dedicated to Nicole and Joel, along with a bit from our adventures in Central America.
And now, for bits of the photography we did around Central America, I introduce a bit of the love that is Nicole and Joel.
Growing up, I was surrounded by nostalgia. Tin and wooden toys are a few of my favorite things- so when we went to Cozy Noodle for Owen and Matt’s Chicago engagement photography session, we had a plethora of amazingness. Added in with that, the interior of the space paired with the autumn backdrop colors quite well. Fall in Illinois is downright breathtaking. So when Owen and Matt said they had a blanket- well, we had a field. 🙂
They are getting married at Architectural Artifacts later this summer, so speaking of being surrounded by nostalgia- it couldn’t be at a better wedding venue. Can’t wait!
